Job Description

Assistant Teacher
Seeking Hebrew-proficient, Jewish-content-loving, fun, energetic, organized and punctual people to be Fig Tree Assistant Teachers, up to five days a week (either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday). Primary locations in Brooklyn, with additional sites in Queens and Harlem. This gig is perfect for a college or grad student, artist, freelancer, etc who can commit to 6 – 18 fixed hours per week with potential for additional administrative flex hours. Pay is $30 – $35 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Lead Teacher
We’re seeking bright, caring, and knowledgeable educators who are passionate about making Jewish education fun and meaningful for students of diverse backgrounds. The right candidates will be creative and resourceful, yet will be able to confidently lead a class of excited learners. Hebrew proficiency and a minimum of five years’ teaching experience is required to be considered. University or Master’s-level study in a relevant field (Education, Jewish Education, Judaic Studies, etc.) is preferred but not necessary.

Details: After school (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and/or Sunday. Primary locations in Brooklyn, with additional sites in Queens and Harlem. Pay starts at $75 per hour, commensurate with experience.
