Music Specialist/Song Leader
Job Description
Ideal for teacher or college student who has their summers free. Also availability to work during the year, part time with preschool and Kindergarten a plus!
Accountable for all aspects of Music programming for children (ages 2-4) and Ages 5-14). General Responsibilities include: Teaching multiple groups of 12-16 children, grouped by age (in 20-30 minute periods) for weekly sessions as well as 1-2 daily music assemblies 1 for each age group – for approximately 30 minutes each and other musical needs that will be determined, together, with the director.
Music curriculum (planned and coordinated with Early Childhood Education Director and Camp, Youth and Family Coordinator should include but is not limited to:
Weekly Themes
Basic Songs
Silly Children’s Songs
Folk Songs
Movement
Pop Songs
Dancing
Hebrew music
Israeli music
Required Skills/Certifications:
Must be able to play guitar
Must be able to learn new music
Able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
Negative TB test results, within the last year
First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (or able to be certified)
Energetic personality
Strong Voice Projection
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of Judaic, Hebrew and Israeli music and songs or willingness to learn a plus
Ability to teach new and fun “line/group dances
Camp experience as a counselor or a camper
