We also seek an advisor who can work with us to set musical priorities for the year, whether it’s purely social sing-alongs or more Shabbat- and chag-focused music or some combination. We are trying to figure out what the next thing is for us as we become better at using music to deepen our engagement with Judaism and each other. This person might also become our regular song-leader, with children and/or adults, but doesn’t have to be. Our next step includes 1-2 focus groups of congregants interested in music, and some conversation with our professional and lay leaders and some of our current lay musical leaders.
