Music Educator

Job Description

As a full-time educator in the Congregational School at Park Avenue Synagogue your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, curriculum design and planning, classroom teaching, teaching and leading prayer services, family and parent education, social and holiday programming, Hebrew tutoring, field trips and other off-site programs, regular Shabbat programming, and communication with parents and other stakeholders. This position is a combination of planning, administrative work, program facilitation, and teaching. There
will also be regular opportunities for professional development and mentoring. You will work with a team of educators who collaborate on all aspects of our work. Park Avenue Synagogue is committed to helping you grow and develop as an educator and Jewish professional.
This is a full-time exempt position. General hours of employment will be determined by the Director of the Congregational School and are based on a work schedule of 40 hours per week, 10 months a year. Hours will include when school is in session, evenings, weekends, and holidays during which family engagement opportunities are scheduled. You are expected to work during the high holy days.
