Music Specialist / Song Leader – Summer Camp
Ideal for teacher or college student who has their summers free.
Accountable for all aspects of Music programming for children (Ages 2-4) and (Ages 5-14). General Responsibilities include: Teaching multiple groups of 12-16 children, grouped by age (in 20-30 minute periods) for weekly sessions as well as 2 daily musical assemblies – 1 for each age group – for approximately 30 minutes each and other musical needs that will be determined, together with the director.
Music curriculum (planned and coordinated with Early Childhood Education Director & Camp, Youth and Family Director should include but it is not limited to:
Weekly themes
Basic songs
Silly children songs
Folk songs
Movement
Pop songs
Dancing
Required skills/certifications:
Must be able to play guitar
Must be able to learn new music
Able to obtain a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card
Negative TB test results
First Aid/CPR/AED Certified (or able to be certified)
Energetic personality
Strong voice projection
Desired skills:
Knowledge of Judaic songs or willingness to learn a plus
Ability to teach new and fun “line/group” dances
Camp experience as a counselor or a camper
