Jewish Gateways is an open, diverse, and innovative Jewish community in the East Bay. Our family learning program, Growing Together, meets twice a month on Saturday mornings in Berkeley. Children and parents participate, learning both together and separately.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a song leader (we also have teaching positions available which ) for our Jewish family learning program. Growing Together meets twice a month from 10:00 am-12:30 pm. Music time is 10:00-10:30 am.
During music time, the song leader plays and teaches songs for children Pre K-7th grade and their parents. We sing Shabbat songs, holiday songs, and Shabbat prayers.
Salary: $160 per hour ($80 per 30 minute session)
Requirements & Skills:
Experience with and enthusiasm about leading groups of children or families in Jewish song Skill in creating engaging and interactive song sessions
Experience playing guitar
Knowledge of and ability to lead, or interest in and ability to learn, Jewish songs and Shabbat prayers
