About Company

Camp Tawonga is a Jewish residential summer camp located just outside of Yosemite National Park. Every summer, over the course of 10 weeks, we create joyful Jewish community with over 1,000 campers! We believe that a loving, inclusive Jewish community gives children a chance to gain self-confidence, explore their spirituality and discover the truest versions of themselves.

Since 1925, Tawonga’s four-part mission has fostered high self-esteem, enduring community, tikkun olam and positive Jewish identity. Our mission guides everything we do – from the programs we facilitate to the way we lead campers, train staff and champion inclusion.

Our diverse, dedicated staff is made up of about 30 year round team members, and over 200 summer and seasonal staff members, many of whom have been Tawonga campers themselves and return to Camp to give back to a place that was so transformative in their own youth and many who are brand new to the community.

We only hire adults. Our staff must be at least 18 years old and have completed high school. The majority of our staff are between the ages of 18-25, and we hire adults with more camp experience, some of whom have advanced degrees, for our supervisory positions. The application process includes a written application, interview and reference checks.

An Equal Opportunity Employer, Camp Tawonga provides equal opportunities without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status.
