Job Description

Touro Synagogue is a progressive, vibrant, growing congregation in New Orleans, Louisiana. We seek a member of our Education Team who will build warm connections with our youth and teens, bring meaningful and crucial support to our Clergy and Education Director in the implementation of dynamic youth initiatives, and be a strong Judaic resource at URJ Henry S Jacobs Camp where a large percentage of our youth spend their summers. In these ways, our Assistant Educator will be a powerful bridge between the many educational outlets offered to families, and will have a tremendous impact on shaping the Jewish culture and future of our children and families. Touro Synagogue’s Assistant Educator will also be a CLASP Fellow, (Camp Leader and Synagogue Professional), spending the summer at URJ Henry S Jacobs Camp and the academic year in the synagogue, with access to professional development experiences throughout that time. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth and Jewish learning, experienced in a variety of Jewish educational and programmatic settings, literate in Hebrew and Jewish prayer, and filled with energy to make a difference in the life of the Jewish youth of New Orleans and beyond.
