Position Overview
Specialists play a critical role at Ramah Day Camp LA, planning and executing daily activities while ensuring a safe and fun environment for all campers. They are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities during different activity blocks. Our specialists also serve as role models to our campers and embody Jewish values, traditions, and identity while building a vibrant camp community.
Ramah Day Camp LA is looking for a dynamic, creative, and talented song leader to guide our community of k-5th graders in music, teaching new songs and camp classics and leading camp-wide shira (song session). Our song leader will serve as a role model to our campers and embody Jewish values, traditions, and identity while building a vibrant camp community.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute daily lesson plans for music electives
Lead camp in community-wide moments of song (morning gatherings, lunch, dismissal, etc.)
Plan and implement age-appropriate programming that integrates Jewish values, traditions, and teachings into daily activities and special events.
Supervise and engage campers in activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Serve as a positive role model for campers by demonstrating enthusiasm, empathy, and respect for others.
Foster a sense of community and belonging among campers by promoting teamwork, inclusivity, and acceptance of diversity.
Collaborate with fellow specialists and camp leadership to create a supportive and cohesive team environment.
Participate in staff training sessions, meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge as a camp counselor.
Adhere to camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
