Are you passionate about music, youth, and Jewish education? Do you light up a room with your energy and spirit? Our Jewish Learning Center (JLC)—an innovative approach to religious school and youth education—is looking for a part-time Songleader to join our vibrant team.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a joyful, charismatic, and engaging individual to lead musical experiences for children in our JLC. As a Songleader, you’ll play a key role in creating educational and fun Jewish experiences through song, t’filah (prayer), and community gatherings.
This position is part-time and flexible to maximize your skills and talents. Additional opportunities are available based on musical background, education, and passions/interests.
Competitive Salary based on experience and final job description.
Core Responsibilities:
Cultivate spirited music sessions during weekly JLC programming
Guide youth through t’filah and Jewish song sessions
Lead music at all-school assemblies and special events
Collaborate with clergy, educators, and fellow staff
Assist with Youth Choir and Purim Spiel
Bring energy and leadership to a room full of young learners
Schedule:
Sunday mornings
Tuesdays and Wednesdays (~4pm-6pm)
What We’re Looking For:
Proficiency in guitar
Experience working with children or in youth leadership roles
Familiarity with Reform Jewish music and prayer
Strong presence in front of groups; confident, warm, and inclusive
A team player who takes direction well and works well with others
Reliable transportation to and from programming
