Job Description

Join us on the shores of Wordens Pond in beautiful Rhode Island this summer! Camp JORI seeks a caring and enthusiastic song leader to share music and Jewish joy in our non-denominational camp community. Since 1937, JORI has provided an exceptional summer experience for children from a variety of backgrounds.

Core responsibilities include:

-Leading our Shabbat Walk and Kabbalat Shabbat service (which includes a few prayers and a lot of singing and dancing)
-Leading Havdalah song session by the campfire weekly
-Leading music activities throughout the week for small groups of campers
-Leading dining hall meal blessings and morning flag pole
-Serving as a core member of the staff team and assisting as needed with camp activities and logistics
-Engaging with campers in creative ways that reflect your skills and interests

Important dates:

-Staff Training Week begins June 16
-Camp is in session June 22 – August 10
